Maharaja Agrasen

Maharaja agrasen is known a great king and father of agrawal community. They ruled at agroha which is also known as city of traders.Their father name was maharaja vallabh.
  They belong to sun dynasty and they was kshatriya erlier but they adopted vanika later.they married with queen madhvi which is doughter of naagloka.
Since when the sayamvar of queen madhvi was taking place then there are sevral princes are present. Lord indra, king of heaven also want to marry her but she choose maharaja agrase so he was angry and decide that there will be no rain on pratapnagar which was kingdom of maharaja agrasen earlier. so there was a great drought occour in kingdom.
maharaja agrasen then decide to war against indra but muni naarad stop them. After this they prayered lord shiv . After a great tapasya they came and say that do worship of godness mahalakshmi. Then they start again tapasya of godness mahalakshmi. After that mahalakshmi said that you adoped vanika dhram and establise a kingdom. They will blessed on it.
            Then king agrasen with queen madhavi visit all over india to choose a place where they can establise their kingdom. one day they came at strange place where babby of loins and cows are playing together. They said this is very good place for our kingdom. They establise agroha kingdom which was spread panjaab,rajasthan, utterpradesh, haryana in present time. The capital of kingdom was agroha city which is hissar in hariyana curruntly.
          They establise a great tradition of givng one brick and one coin when a new person came to live in their kingdom. there was neer hundread thousand trader at that time so the person who come to live get hundread thousand brick for making home and hundread thousand ruppes for trading.
  Ther are eighteen gotra of agrawal hich s based on their son. so agrawal do worship of mahalakshmi as a godness and worship snake because their mother queen madhavi belong to naagloka.
